Minutes from April 19, 2011: motion to approve Jan Moore, second Scott Miller minutes approved as read

Treasurer: Jim Russell gave financial report -May Conference expense and profit reported. Jim reported that SWC profit was approximately $2550 which is about $180 more than previous year. Motions to approve Cherry Powell, second Jan Moore. Report approved as read.

Advocacy: Tim Cramer reported that the proposed amendment to budget restore treatment and prevention monies to prior years levels. Joannie Leigh reported that at the moment the cuts to addictions treatment and prevention is at a minimum - wait and see what the Governor actually does.

Education: Cherry Powell reported that the new list is ready to be posted on the website for future SWC presentations. A speaker/host is needed for the 9/11 meeting. Chestnut offered to take Oct, Nov and January 2012. Robert Snipes offered Stepping Stones as a site and stated that the host will need to provide refreshments. Please contact Robert for further information.

New business: June meeting is 6/21/11 @ Old Country Buffet 2811 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL - Topic: "Humor in the Workplace" 1 CEU. Attendees are requested to bring stories highlighting the value and benefit of humor in recovery.

Heroin Project: Tim Cramer passed out Heroin Project Focus Groups summary and findings. Tim will e-mail findings to Marcia and they will be posted to the website. Joannie and Tim offered to present the findings to any group who is interested. Please contact one of them for further details.
